What is a .OGA file?

OGA files are audio files saved in the Ogg container format and include an audio stream encoded with the Vorbis scheme. OGA files were introduced in 2007 by the Xiph.Org Foundation to distinguish files saved in the Ogg container format that only store audio from .OGG files that may also contain video or text. The files may be used for saving various audio content, but are typically used for storing music and speech.

While OGA files are not common, you may still encounter them as an alternative to .MP3 files, especially in regards to audio burned on a CD or recorded from a voice recorder. You can use File Viewer Plus to play the audio in your OGA files and convert the files to the MPEG-4 (.M4A) format and different bitrates and frequencies.
