What is an .SFD file?
SFD files are video files saved in the Sofdec format developed by CRI Middleware for the Sega Dreamcast. They store compressed video and audio in a single file and were designed to provide smooth playback during gameplay on the Dreamcast's hardware. SFD files are commonly used for introductory movies, cutscenes, attract mode sequences, and other full-motion video content in Dreamcast games.
You may encounter SFD files when exploring Dreamcast game discs, extracting video assets from classic console games, or working with archived game collections.
