What is a .VOC file?
VOC files are audio files saved in the Creative Labs Audio (VOC) format, an early digital audio format developed for Sound Blaster sound cards on DOS-based PCs. Creative Labs designed the format to store sampled audio, sound effects, and simple music using a variety of encoding methods, including uncompressed PCM and Creative's ADPCM compression. Because of its flexibility and close integration with Sound Blaster hardware, VOC became widely used in early PC games, multimedia applications, and demo software during the late 1980s and 1990s.
You may encounter VOC files when working with classic PC games, retro software collections, or archived multimedia projects from the DOS era. File Viewer Plus can play VOC files and convert the audio to MP3 or M4A formats.
